Manfrè mountain chalet is located at an altitude of 1350m on the southern slopes of Etna about 10 minutes by car from the Etna South lift station. The chalet is surrounded by forest, at the foot of ancient craters of Mount Manfrè, today characterized by chestnut, oak and walnut trees. We offer shared accommodation for up to seven guests, ideal for those who want to leave early for an excursion alternatively just to enjoy the silence of the forest. Outside, a spacious BBQ and pic nic area allow you to spend the day immersed in nature. Drinks such as cocktails along with local produce tasting platters are available at the bar. Furthermore our outdoor space, organized on stone terraces, offers a possibility of a unique bivouac experience in a furnished tent. The surrounding area offers a wonderful landscape with hiking paths that can be explored on foot or by mountain bike. The chalet is surrounded by the ancient craters of Monte Sona and Monte Manfrè bordered by the 1983 lava flow. Hiking path 786B starts from the chalet and takes you to the entrance of the Altamontana path that circumvents the volcano. The refuge is located along the E1 route which starts from the North Cape and reaches Capo Passero, crossing all of Europe.

Accomodation at the Manfrè mountain chalet allows for a full immersion in nature. Our location is an ideal starting point for the most fascinating excursions leading to the summit craters of the Etna volcano.
